Plan your journey to Ukulhas, choose dates around the holiday you have in mind and find the room that suits you. Here are the arrival details, island customs and booking essentials to help you prepare.
The boat from Malé
We normally book you onto the scheduled Coral Speedboat, around 90 minutes from Malé to Ukulhas. It runs daily in both directions, with different times on Fridays, so look at the departure table before booking your flights. You are met at Malé airport arrivals, and again at Ukulhas harbour.
Island customs
Ukulhas is a village with a working harbour, not a resort. Swimwear is for the bikini beach; in the village, shoulders and knees are covered. No alcohol is served anywhere on the island. Prayer times and Fridays move some opening hours around.
When to come
The wind and the sea change through the year, and the beach and the boat trips change with them. If a particular animal or a lot of snorkelling is the reason you are coming, tell us the dates you are considering and we will tell you what the crews have been seeing. No sighting is ever promised, and the captain confirms each trip on the morning.
Booking terms
Check-in opens at 14:00 at both properties and check-out is by 12:00. Deposits, cancellations, changes and refunds are all set out in full, with the formal direct booking terms underneath them.
If stairs are a consideration
All six rooms at Nala Veli Villa are on the ground floor. Nala Veli Beach & Spa has three floors and no lift, with the balcony rooms and the Suites upstairs; the team carries luggage. If you use a wheelchair, tell us before booking and we will go through the layout of the room and the bathroom with you.

How long is the boat from Malé?
Around 90 minutes on the Coral Speedboat, though the sea and any schedule change can move that.
Can you arrange a private speedboat?

Do we pay for trips when we book them?
No. Trips and other extras go onto your room bill and you settle it at check-out.
